Chambercombe Manor

Chambercombe Manor has form. Mischievous child ghosts taunt the unwary. Spirits wander through the receptive. Our visit coincided with a peaceful day, with nothing untoward to report. Other than the door. The one that opened and closed by itself…

Shadow Ghosts

Shadow

Waiting

Spin round to look. That’s what they want. They tease and tantalise. The briefest of glimpses is all they allow. Shadow ghosts. In the corner of the eye.

What they didn’t teach you in science lessons.

Osmosis. Cell membrane. Solution. Interaction. Extraction. Filtration.

Or, soak strawberries and sugar in white  rum. Leave for a couple of weeks. Sieve off the bleached fruit, which now resembles pulpy maggots. Your strawberry-flavoured and coloured rum is now ready for cocktail mixology.

Time

Time plays tricks. Watched, it plods, a donkey in the desert sun, mocking those who would urge it to progress faster. Time forgotten becomes the racehorse, kicking up its heels and hurtling by. Do I manage time? How can such a wily trickster be controlled?  When does time-management become a euphemism for procrastination?
