It started with Namibia. An urge, in the middle of the night, to paint the petrified trees of the Namib. And so it began, a quest to paint a scene from each of 54 countries. I’d better get on with it, as I have only painted 8 countries so far…

The heat would overwhelm me, I know, but I would so love to visit the dramatic landscapes of Namibia. The intensity of the iron-oxide rich sand, the creamy colours of the salts flats, the vivid cobalt sky. And those skeleton trees, stark reminders of a previous wilderness.
